Pancakes with tonka beans, date syrup and clotted cream

Serves 4


200g  fresh milk
1tsp tonka beans powder
2 medium eggs
3 tbsp honey
½ tsp salt
250g self-raising flour
5 tbsp sunflower oil for oiling the pan
100g date syrup
100g Clotted cream
100g walnuts

Preparation method
1. Whisk the flour, egg, the honey, the salt, the tonka bean and milk in a bowl to make a batter.
2.  Heat the oil in a pancake pan and ladle the mixture in. Allow the mixture to coat the pan and fry the pancake for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden. Repeat to make further pancakes.
3. To serve, transfer the pancakes to a serving plate and drizzle the date syrup over, the walnuts and serve on the side a nice tbsp of clotted cream.
